The life of a young doctor is intertwined with the fate of Russia in the early 20th century. Yuri Zhivago left orphaned at a young age, and his uncle brings him to Moscow, where he studied medicine, while living with the family of his uncle. During a New Year's Eve dance, witnesses a murder attempt Komarovksy a known advocate of high society. But what shocks Yuri is the identity of the shooter: is Lara Gishar. He had seen the first time they met Komarovsky in Montenegro hotel. Then, their magnetism and their unusual relationship revealed in the young doctor a world of emotions that had not yet experienced. Yuri learns that Komarovsky played a role in the suicide of his father, but this news has less influence on the accidental meeting with Lara. At the start of World War I, Doctor Zhivago goes to the first line, leaving his wife and children in Moscow. Not knowing that many years later, Lara will touch again his life and change it forever.
